Corcovado National Park — San Pedrillo Station
Closer. Wilder than you expect. And the station with the most puma sightings in the park.
San Pedrillo is the northern entrance to Corcovado — closer to Sierpe than Sirena, which means more time inside the park and a slightly shorter journey on the water (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes each way).
People sometimes assume that because Sirena is more famous, San Pedrillo is a lesser experience. That assumption gets corrected quickly.
San Pedrillo has waterfalls. It has coastal primary forest that transitions abruptly from Pacific beach to dense canopy. And it holds a record that surprises most guests: it has the highest rate of puma sightings by tourists of any station in Corcovado National Park. During fruiting season, tapirs are also regularly seen here.
The honest answer to ‘which station should I choose’ is: it depends on the time of year, current conditions, and what you want to prioritize. We are in the field every day. We will tell you exactly which station makes more sense for your specific dates — and we will never recommend one just to fill a slot.
Nature is Unpredictable — And That's the Beauty of It
We do not guarantee sightings, and we don’t run scripted tours. The Osa Peninsula is a wild, living ecosystem where every single day behaves differently.
