Mangrove & Beach Safari

This tour takes the River Wildlife Safari further — deeper into the mangrove channels of the lower Sierpe River, where the ecosystem becomes denser, quieter, and more primordial. We navigate through narrow passages where the roots of red mangroves form living walls on either side of the boat, and the wildlife that depends on this habitat appears closer and more intimate than anywhere else in the region.

Then we head to Isla Violines.

Isla Violines is a beach accessible only by boat. It is almost always empty. The water is calm — no surf, no current — which makes it ideal for children and non-swimmers. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in the entire Osa Peninsula, and the vast majority of tourists who visit Costa Rica will never find it.

It is also the site where the largest gold nugget in the history of Costa Rica was discovered. The Osa was once a gold rush territory — local miners called 'oreros' worked these rivers and beaches for generations. Standing on Isla Violines, you are standing on top of that history.

We have lunch on the beach. Fresh, local food. No rush. Time to swim, relax, and disconnect completely.
