Questions & Answers
The things people usually ask before booking. If yours isn't here, send us a message — we answer fast.
Where do tours depart from?
All our tours leave from our private dock in Sierpe — a small river town about 45 minutes south of Uvita on fully paved roads. We have free secure parking on site. From Quepos or Manuel Antonio, you’re looking at about 1.5 to 2 hours by car. Dominical is a 30–40 minute drive.
Will there be other people on our tour?
No. Every tour we operate is completely private — your family or group only. We do not combine strangers into shared tours. The guide, the boat, and the experience are entirely yours.
Do you guide in English?
Yes. Both José and Angie speak excellent English and guide comfortably in it. You will not lose any of the interpretation or storytelling because of language.
Is this suitable for children?
Absolutely. The River Safari and the Mangrove & Beach tour are ideal for children of all ages — including toddlers and babies. For Isla del Caño, children should be comfortable in the water. For Corcovado, we recommend it for children who can comfortably walk for several hours. We have a child ourselves — we know exactly what families need.
What fitness level is required?
The River Safari and Mangrove tours require no physical effort beyond boarding the boat. Isla del Caño requires comfort in the water. The Corcovado tours involve several hours of walking on forest trails — good general fitness is recommended, but you do not need to be an athlete.
You showed us that even guests with physical limitations can fully enjoy a tour. Is that true?
Yes. We adapt every experience to the person in front of us. We have designed tours for guests with very limited mobility and vision challenges that gave them wildlife encounters they never imagined possible. Contact us directly and let us know what you need — we will tell you honestly what is possible and find a way to make it happen.
What should we bring?
For all tours: insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat, comfortable clothing in neutral earth tones (avoid bright white), a light rain layer, and your camera. For Corcovado Sirena: water shoes for the rocky beach landing, plus sturdy closed-toe shoes for the trails. For Isla del Caño: swimwear. We will send you a complete packing list after booking.
What is not allowed in Corcovado?
No single-use plastic, no knives, no food from outside the park, no cigarettes, no vaporizers. These are park regulations — not our rules. We enforce them because we take conservation seriously, and because breaking them can result in fines or removal from the park.
When is the best time to visit?
The River Safari is excellent year-round. For Isla del Caño, the dry season (December to April) brings the clearest water — but we monitor visibility throughout the year and can advise before you book. Corcovado is extraordinary in any month it’s open — it closes in October. Whale watching peaks in December through April and again July through October. Ask us about current conditions for your specific dates.
How do I book?
The fastest way is WhatsApp — message Angie at +506 8368 9927. You can also use our contact form or email us at angchav99@gmail.com. We typically respond within a few hours. For Corcovado, please book at least 2 to 3 weeks in advance — permits are limited.
What is your cancellation policy?
Safety comes first — always. If conditions are not right (weather, sea state, park access), we will tell you honestly and offer to reschedule or refund. For guest-initiated cancellations, we are flexible and human about it. Contact us as soon as you know and we will work something out together.
